Our Staff
Laurie Atkinson
Owner and Administrator
Laurie has had a passion for caring for others her entire life! She grew up with her grandmother living with her in the home and felt a responsibility towards her. Laurie’s parents always thought she would end up being a social worker – as she always wanted to take care of people and make them happy! She was a foster parent to teenage girls for about 5 years and although teenagers can be a bit challenging at times, she found it very rewarding. Laurie has had the senior care home idea in her mind for many years, and was thrilled that she was able to see it come to fruition and can live her dream with it!
Shannon Conger
Shannon is in charge of the Denwood home. She works days Monday through Friday and has been a caregiver for the last 15 years. She has extra training certificates in wound care and medication management. She is the main contact between family and medical personnel for all the residents at Denwood.
Linda Cane
Linda works the overnight shift at the Troy Ln House as well as lives at the house. She comes to us after living in Florida for several years and working at a larger facility. She likes the smaller setting of Casa De Vida where she can get to know the residents and their families on a more personal level.
Patty Perez
Patty works full time at the Troy Ln house. She has been a caregiver for about 20 years, mainly at larger facilities. She fits in very well with us and loves asking the residents to tell her stories about their lives. All the residents love her attentiveness to their needs.
Kimberlyn Gallardo
Kim is our weekend overnight shift worker at the Troy Ln house and she helps out as the second caregiver in the mornings. She has previously worked for several agencies as a caregiver and she is in her first semester of nursing school, after completing her bachelors degree at the tender age of 22!
Beatriz Labrada
Part Owner, Administrator
“B” is a part owner, administrator, and top chef! She makes the most amazing meals and soups from scratch. All the residents love her cooking! Beatriz oversees both homes but mainly works at the Troy Ln. home, Casa De Vida II. She is caring, patient and loving – all wrapped up into one amazing human being! She had been a caregiver of physically challenged adults for 3 years, prior to Casa De Vida. She possesses a positive can do attitude as well as great compassion for the elderly. She is both bilingual and very bright. She brings joy to many with her positive outlook and ability to care for seniors!
Kathy Hinh
Kathy works at the Denwood Home and lives there as well. She joined Casa De Vida in 2015 and has proven herself to be a very valuable employee. She has gotten residents active with gardening and she is great at motivating them to think outside the box and try new things from time to time. Who says you can’t teach an old dog new tricks? Kathy can do it!
Julie Miller
We are so blessed to have Julie Miller on our staff! Julie just lives a few houses away from the Denwood house and she comes into work every day – 7 days a week – for about 2 hours in the mornings to get things rolling. She also comes back in whenever needed to either house as just an extra set of eyes or ears as needed. She was our first employee, and knows the routines well at both homes!
Susan Neuhoff
Susan works weekend shifts at the Troy Ln house. She is soft-spoken, caring and compassionate. She is a former LVN who just wanted things a little easier in life and she has found it here at Casa De Vida. She also fills in during the week whenever needed.
Yaneli Pelayo
Yaneli is a part time worker at the Denwood home. It’s her job to get the residents to bed in the evenings. She’s been with us since March 2017 and all the residents love the kindness she shows them.
